"Darcy Morrissey is simply one of the top choral directors in the Pacific Northwest. She creates artistry in young people. She ignites intellectual curiosity. She nurtures young voices, and brings out the best in a mature but honest tone color as well as the highest levels of music literacy, and pride in being a great singer in a great choir program."

"Darcy Morrissey is a musical magician. Dynamic, fun, and with it, she casts a spell of good humor and lightheartedness, creating a choral learning environment that is both challenging and supportive, playful and serious, individualized yet overflowing with the synergy of a group of people united in purpose. An accomplished musician and singer, Darcy models and teaches exemplary vocal technique, brings forth deeply artistic choral performance, and moves students toward musical independence with her commitment to the mastery of musical literacy. Darcy's students bubble out of rehearsal, with hearts, minds, and bodies overflowing with music and all that it promises."

"Darcy is a superb musician, and an exceptional person - I'm delighted she has founded the Bellevue Girlchoir! She served for many years as the alto section leader for Seattle Pro Musica, leading music skills classes and assisting with rehearsal conducting. This, plus her years of teaching middle school choral music and working as a conductor for the Northwest Girlchoir, make her uniquely qualified for this position.
Her teaching, conducting, singing, and organizational skills are impeccable -- and equally important, she is a dedicated leader and a warm, friendly person whom children and youth love to work with.
Congratulations to Darcy, and to the singers of the Bellevue Girlchoir!"
